What does the Bible say about Repentance?

What does the Bible say about Repentance?

Romans 3:23
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

According to the Bible, everyone has sinned; every man, woman, and child has sinned. When Satan deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden, she ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and gave the fruit to her husband Adam to eat; after he ate it, that is when all of humanity became sin. Yes, my friend, you and I both have sinned and are found guilty and unworthy of God. We are all doomed for the Lake of Fire.
The Good news is

THERE IS HOPE!
HIS NAME IS JESUS!

John 3:5-7
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

John 3:16-17
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

There is our hope Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son.

Romans 10:9-10 9. because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Yes, my friend, it is that easy to be saved. God made it easy for us to have eternal life with him. We must Repent (Turn from our sins). We must confess our sins to Jesus Christ and believe that Jesus is the only Son of God and that He died on the Cross for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead. When we do, we are saved. We become a child of the Most High God.

1John 1:8-10
8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Revelation 21:7-8
7. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my Son.
8. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The Bible says our life is but a vapor, a mist; you are here now, but in the next second, you are in eternity. James 4:14 ESV 14 "yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."

Now is the time that God is giving you to repent and turn from your sins. You may think I am young; I have my whole life ahead of me and plenty of time to repent. But as you just read or heard, you do not have that guarantee that you do.
You may be thinking; You don't know what I have done. I don't believe God can save me. But you're mistaken. Jesus saved the thief that was hanging on the cross next to Him. Paul wrote most of the New Testament before he met Jesus on the road to Damascus; he was a Murderer and a persecutor of the church, but Jesus forgave him and then gave him a job to do for the church.

Found in The Conversion of Saul.

Acts 9:1-9
1. But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2. and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3. Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" 5. And he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6. But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do." 7. The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 8. Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9. And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

You may be thinking I am too old now to be saved. But here again, you are wrong. When Jesus died on the cross, he died for ALL of Mankind. There was no age limit. Why? Because there is no time in eternity, and there is no young and old. Age is for us here on earth, not in eternity.

Now is the time to repent and ask Jesus for forgiveness. Invite Him into your heart right there where you are. No matter what you have done, Jesus will forgive you. You may not be here in the next 30 seconds, so now is the time.
Repent for Jesus is coming soon!
