Jesus Christ himself founded the New Testament Church, and He is the head of the church. Jesus purchased the church with His blood. Because he bought the church with his blood, we are to realize that as pastors, evangelists, teachers, deacons, and laypersons do not own the church.
The Bible is quite clear on how God's church is to operate.
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his blood.
Pastors, God put in your charge and given the responsibility of a shepherd. You are to tend to God's flock as a good shepherd and protect your sheep from Satan's devices and lies. You, as a pastor, are to make sure your congregation knows the uncompromised word of God. You must preach what is sin, and warn your people of the sins that will lead their souls to the lake of fire. Your job is to keep your flock from entering the gates of hell by preaching the whole word of God and leading them to Christ Jesus, who shed his blood on the cross for our sins. It is also your job to inform them of the false doctrine and the false prophets in today's world.
